Emile Ryjoch

Saxophonist / Clarinetist / Educator

Emile Ryjoch, 20, is a multi award-winning saxophonist and clarinettist from Adelaide, Australia. The son of two seasoned professionals in the classical and jazz music scenes, Emile was surrounded by a wide variety of music as he was growing up. When he was 8, he began playing the clarinet and at the age of 14, he started saxophone. Now 20, Emile is Tenor 1 in the Elder Conservatorium Big Band and is performing frequently around Adelaide in a variety of ensembles. In 2013, he was awarded Tenor 1 in the Division 2 Superband at Generations in Jazz under the direction of Bill Broughton and in 2016, he was awarded the "Top Undergraduate Saxophone Student of 2016" by the Helpmann Academy. Emile has performed with many notable musicians including Kate Ceberano, Sven Ratzke, Eddie Perfect, Ali McGregor, Tom Burlinson, Michelle Nicolle, Errol Buddle, James Muller, David Theak and others.
